Hello all you wonderful people,
My story starts out that I bought this ps3. Its a BC PS3. I got it home and tried it out and it took discs and spun them but did not read them. I decided the laser was bad and replaced it with a different one. After installing the new laser and reassembling the drive the laser carriage motor pushes the laser towards the spindle for about 2-3 seconds then stops. It will not accept discs now. I have combed over the drive and had it all back apart trying it with all the cables disconnected or all of them connected. I have tried it with the old laser and with the top off and on. I have tried it with no laser at all. Everything gives the same result. I've come to the conclusion I have fried the blu ray board via static by accident. Here is a video of it in action.
