I've had a few questions in mind ever since I came across different 'external' PS3 coolers fighting for the market share; people seeing the new coolest gadgets for their consoles, promising all kind of benefit in return for their money.
Are there good ones and are there bad ones? Which ones promise to deliver but miserably fail? Which ones do extend the lifespan of PS3s, especially those still under warranty. Are there coolers on the market that make the heating problem actually worse?
During last year when I was online shopping on chinese "gimmick-shops', for example www.dx.com if some of you haven't browsed these, I saw 'cheap' coolers for sale. Some of these coolers are to be inserted in PS3's usb slots and take their electricity from them, some are designed to be inserted on the console behind the PSU, and so on.
I myself own own one of those that are inserted behind the PSU and use the same power cable for electricity.
I have a new PS3 baby coming in the following days and would like to extend it's lifespan, make it "way cooler" (if that is even possible) while still keeping the warranty (which means not opening the console in this case). Should I use my old china gimmick-shop cooler or buy a new "serious" one? Recommend me some coolers if you think my current is a bad one. :)
Here you can browse some relatively cheap coolers http://www.dealextreme.com/c/other-a...pagesort=price, and the one I own is this http://www.dealextreme.com/p/cooling...im-black-67483.
