Want to play backup ps1 games on my PS3, Help?

Hey guys,

Just signed up, Spent the last few days looking for information myself on playing
backup ps1 games on my ps3..Found to much garbage, So why not ask experts?
:) I have a old 80gb ps3 with 2 usb ports & also a 120gb slim.. My slim will play original ps1 games.
