Can you run backups off of an USB 3.0 HDD with 2.0 backover compatibility?

Hello.
I'm thinking of getting the Western Digital My Passport 1TB Black so I can run Wii and Ps3 backups from it.
Does anyone know if the Ps3 will see it as another 2.0 hard drive, and function normally, or should I look for another drive?
The drive model number is WDBBEP0010BBK-EESN.
