Technically, I believe I've heard it called the Black Screen of Death, but now my Slim PS3 is suffering from it.
This PS3 is the CECH-2001B, and it came with a broken blu-ray drive when I got it from eBay. Since my other PS3 YLOD'd on me, I thought I would use the working BR drive to replace the broken one by following the guide I found on psx-scene. So, I took my e3 flasher from my YLOD PS3 and inserted it into this PS3. I also got a PS3 switch for the power cable so I wouldn't have to unplug and re-plug the cord again during the downgrade.
I got through the backup process fine (three bin files made, all in the right size), but the next time I turned the PS3 on, it just had a black screen, the lights on my system were on, but neither my controller nor the power button gave any response. Holding the power button doesn't ever give me a response beep at all. I tried holding it down for over 5 m,inutes, and got nothing. When I checked my backup with PS3 NOR Patcher in hopes for a restore, it said the bin file had no IFI0-tag at the offset 200.
I hope I'm not screwed here. I have no working backup according to that program. I don't want a brick.
