Hello fellow members. Me and a couple of friends are translating games in our native language, but we need some help.
We have two methods in replaciung the files of the game we've translated.
The first method is manually replace the files through mmCM's file manager (which is hard for the average noob) and the second method is that we make a PC executable file, which replaces the translated files, once the game backup is copied to the PC.
Now the problem is that none of the methods are convinient for our users and we want to make our translations install directly on the PS3 similar to the game updates and the DUPLEX cracks for instance.
There are a few problems that are stopping us:
We're not sure what kind of PKG file do we need to make - game update or game data.
The other thing is that the PKG files install in "dev_hdd0/game" directory, which helps for games that have instalation, but not for the ones, that doesn't.
Is there any way to make the PKG file install in the "dev_hdd0/GAMES" directory, where the actual backup goes? Something similar to the gameDATA tool maybe?
For example - we've recently translated Uncharted 3 in bulgarian, and the files that need to be replaced are stored in the "dev_hdd0\GAMES\BCES01175\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\build\main\text1" (we extract and delete "text1.psarc"file and make a folder with the same name, so the game can read the language files from there) directory and we can't find a way to replace them with a PKG file. Is there any way to do that?
Im sorry if I wrote this hard to understand, but my head is a mess right now, and the thoughts just fly around. And one other (very important in my opinion) thing - we don't charge our users for the translations we make. They are free for anyone to use them, with no fees, surveys or any other of that ****. Thank you for your help in advance!
