psl1ght ppu compiling issue

When making many of the psl1ght samples on ubuntu(lucid), I get this error:

Makefile:6: /usr/local/ps3dev/libpsl1ght/host/ppu.mk: No such file or directory
make: *** No rule to make target `/usr/local/ps3dev/libpsl1ght/host/ppu.mk'. Stop.

Does anyone know how to solve it, I feel like I must have missed something simple.
