Downgrading and Jailbreaking PS3 4.40?

I'm sort of new to this whole jailbreaking and downgrading thing so I was thinking, maybe I should register here so someone can help me.

My ps3 is update 4.40 and I need to downgrade it and jailbreak it in order to use custom games and stuff like that

But i'm new to this so, Can someone please tell me how this works? :love:
