So everyone who browses this forum daily is no stranger to people saying they cant get there clip to work, it must be broken. but the reality is most clips are not made that great and need some TLC to get them working, now there are some things that are widely known and some that are not. and over time i have been taking pictures of different things i do to get my clips working.most of the tricks are out there scattered around the internet but hopefully this thread will bring them all together if enough people contribute. I am going to start off by posting a few things that have worked for me.
As time goes on i will update the thread with different things i find to help with getting your clip to work successfully. most people for some reason have the illusion that you have to put your system back together every time you adjust your clip. this is not true. Even with fat systems you can leave the motherboard exposed so that you can adjust the clip as needed.

Homemade nand adapter
This trick i use for the nand 360 clip for the progskeet, basically all i do is turn the clip into a adapter. i wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have a hot air rework machine like a aoyue or similar. but all you have to do is flux up the nand and then hit it with some hot air for a short period of rim, checking every few seconds to see if it can be lifted. once lifted clean off the nand and just place it in the clip the correct way and use a clamp to put pressure on it. sometimes this doesent work so you have to push the legs on the nand in very slightly. nothing noticiable just a tiny bit this is something i do as a last resort thou....I have not tried this for the e3 clip yet because i either use the linker when i cant get the clip to sit on the nor. there are much better ways to pull a dump off of a removed nand. like @ sarah1331 adapter board. genius product. a must for anyone with a progskeet!

Apply pressure
This next one is probably the most widely know method of getting your clip to work. simply apply pressure. but the way i do it i have found to work very well. i use a medicine bottle and a heavy balanced object (you can use a a bottle from the pharmacy prescriptions or anything round with the same structure ) the reason you want to use something like a medicine bottle is because it distributes the weight evenly. i use either a brick or a heavy ash tray that i have... something that has even weight on both sides is basically what you need. like i said earlier you don't have to put the systems back together in one of the pictures i am doing this on a fat model system.

the way i downgrade fats without putting them back together is by using a slim ps3 fan and attaching it onto the CPU and GPU just like you would when downgrading a slim without putting it back together. and just for extra cooling i power the fan with the 12v line coming form the psu wire... i will take some more in depth pictures of how i use the slim fan on fat systems when i get another fat nor downgrade in... here is a picture of the fat system with the slim fan on it...

Clamps
using clamps is also a good way to get your clip to make a good connection. i actually didn't think of using them until seeing @baileyscream guide where he used them which is where i got the picture from, thank you @baileyscream .

Adapter board
Firstly i would like to recognize a genius product from @Sarah1331 . An adapter board that allows you to remove the nand and attach to the board for downgrading. no need for fumbling and playing with clips that work only have the time and even when they do work you have to apply tricks and modifications to the clip. when i got one of these it cut my downgrade time in half. truly worth double than what it is being sold for...

Sanding down your clip
Before using your clip on any system i recommend that you sand it down to sit flush on your board without touching and components. i use a blade from my strait razor to take off the plastic but i have heard of many people using small slotted screw drivers, nail filers and of course sand paper. just always remember to make sure your very careful while doing this because you can easily damage your clip beyond repair.
