buying a new ps3

i see that 3k and 4k ps3's cant be downgraded but im unsure where you get the 3k and 4k info from for eg if i see a ps3 thats says its a CECH-K03 does the 3 mean its a 3k version?

can any of the slim ones be downgraded?
