Is it safe to connect my PS3 Rogero 4.30 v2.05 to internet no psn just internet?

Hello,

I want to use ftp and I can't get an ip because I'm disabling my internet connection setting.

I will enable setting then connect ftp with ip, is it safe while internet connection is working ? I dont want to play psn only access ftp?
