Have you tried searching the forum for someone experiencing the same problem before posting?
Yes.
Describe your problem:
I Bought a WD Elements SE 1TB (WDBPCK0010BBK-03), USB 3.0 (USB 2.0 Compatible), its formated to FAT32, works fine on computer.
I connect it to the PS3, Leds are on so its powered, disk spins so no problem there. Still it is not recognized by the PS3. At least not by itself. (see next question)
What have you tried to do to resolve this issue yourself:
Read this somewhere and tried it...
It actually works sometimes.. but i think it can harm the disk too... so its not a real solution...
1- First, plug the usb 3.0 cord WITHOUT the disc plugged in, just the cable WD provided you.
2- Then, grab the disc with one hand, and the cable with the other one.
3- What you have to do is insert the plug on the disc reaaaaally slowly, and STOP right before its fully plugged.
4- You will see the disc starts spinning, and the little white light will flash.
5- Finally, press it firmly to the end, and voila! recognized at full speed, no stupid hubs, or anything.
Any help will be well accepted, thanks.
