Hey, got given a sealed cechg 40gb YLOD last night and the previous owner told me theres still a game in it, now I didn't want to open it just to get the game out as I was just going to sell it on sealed (dont have the equipment for decent repairs) so I tried the fan test mode, usually on ylods that wont work. lo and behold the green light stayed on, fan up full speed, tapped eject and out popped the game.
I know for sure ive tried this before on other ylods and the fan test would not work, and noticed in an old thread that someone mentioned that their ylods wouldn't do the fan test. is this a power supply issue or something else?
I dont mind opening it if there are a few proven fixes i can try, TBH id rather just open it and part it out if it cannot be fixed rather than sell it on as a sealed virgin ps3 giving someone else hopes of an easy fix :)
