cecha eject button turns system on but wont eject?

If I press reset when the ps3 is off it powers on. doesn't eject but powers on. I can manually eject disc from the xmb, but the button won't work. no response from touching it once running and power works fine.


I would get it if the button just didn't work and think I need a panel but...

any ideas?
