Hi, just replaced my old PS3 phat one since it went red light with a new 160gb and i had the white dot problems which is explained and i solved with this video:

1) After fixing it i was wondering if it is a PS3 problem or a general bug with some Displays?
My old phat worked great with the settings that caused the problems.
2) do disabling this setting output lower quality?
3) and what is the theory behind this problem what does it happens?
note: i tried with three different cables and the xbox tooo. It still happened. It seems to be fixed by disabling that option only.
