Okay so earlier this week i got the YLoD on my CECHG01... did the reflow and got her back together... almost:
upon removal of the Blu Ray Drive, i ended up breaking that stupid clip holding the ribbon cable in place, i managed to save half of it and unfortunately lost the other half, anyways. I got the cable in as best i could and put half of the clip in, then proceeded to give it a strip of electrical tape. it seems to be in pretty well.
Now the Ps3 will boot up and take me to XMB, but when i try to go to multiman or play a psn game or even open openps3ftp, i get a black screen that i can only get out of by shutting off the playstation.
My question is... If it were a bad reflow, would the unit boot up and xmb work fine? or is that a possible cause for my situation?
Could it be the BD's connection? (it didnt work before the YLoD but i was able to play discless via multiman) ive coincidentally got it open, and noticed that the motor doesent turn, however i can see the laser focusing.
Any help is much appreciated.
